This site was created in order to inform the general public about the culture, language
and traditions of our ancestors -the Greeks of Kappadokia- who were forced to leave their homeland
Kappadokia (where they lived for hundreds of years) and move to Greece in the early 1920s. People all over the world try to preserve their customs and traditions using various ways and methods. We also try to do the same even though it is becoming more difficult as the original Kappadokeans one
after the other cease to exist due to old age. The web and
the Internet in general offers new ways of informing and communicating with each
other.
At the same time the site can offer the opportunity for our members to
communicate with each other more effectively no matter where they reside.
Some of our members live in Europe particulalrly in Germany, some others in USA and Canada
and some as far as Australia. Traditional ways of communicating were not enough.
Now also they can be informed about upcoming activities as well as details about events
they have missed for various reasons.
Also important is to give the opportunity to others who are eligible to
become members and be part of our big family of Kappadokeans.
We are really proud to be the New Generation of Kappadokeans!
